You can stop by and get your eggs at the self serve station. I plowed the drive and the snow is gone!

The young chickens have been out on the field in the portable enclosure for awhile. They are doing well even though there has been wind and showers ever since they went out to the field.
Today was a good day on the ranch. The goat kids are getting bigger and able to go out in the fields with their mothers. After the rains this morning all the goats and kids went out in the fields and while the mom's ate the tender new grass coming up the kids ran and jumped and danced in the field having a great time.
I made some goat milk cheese, Gouda style, and took the whey to the chickens which came running from the fields to see what treat was being delivered. Our first group of 100 broiler chicks arrived today. They seem healthy and started drinking and eating rite away as normal. One chick was a little slow but is doing fine after a drink and a little nap under the heat lamp.

Our first batch of Laying hens for the year has arrived. These New Hampshire Reds should start laying in June. Meat chickens are ordered for Feb.9th. That is the soonest I could get chickens for meat. |
